Opportunity for Young People: Join a National Youth Advisory Group

Young people on the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to apply to join the Project ROUTE Youth Advisory Group, an opportunity to share their experiences while learning more about future careers in the growing fields of transport, data and digital technology.

Project ROUTE is a national initiative designed to inspire more young people to explore careers that use data and digital skills within the transport sector. From analysing travel patterns to designing smarter transport systems, the sector is increasingly reliant on digital technology and data specialists.

The Youth Advisory Group will bring together young people from across the UK to share their experiences of travel, access to opportunities and how young people interact with transport systems. Their insights will help shape the development of the programme and ensure young people’s voices help influence future projects and careers initiatives.

Members will also gain valuable experience by working alongside professionals in the sector and developing key employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership.

For young people living on the Isle of Wight, transport can play a particularly important role in accessing education, training and employment. Opportunities like this allow young people to share their perspectives while learning about emerging career pathways linked to transport, technology and data.

At the Island Careers Partnership, we are committed to helping young people explore a wide range of career pathways and develop the skills needed for the future world of work. Initiatives like Project ROUTE highlight the exciting opportunities available in sectors that many young people may not yet have considered.

If you are interested in developing new skills, influencing future opportunities for young people and learning more about careers in transport and digital technology, this could be a fantastic opportunity.
