Students and career-seekers across the Island are being invited to discover exciting apprenticeship opportunities with BAE Systems, one of the world’s leading defence, aerospace and security companies.
BAE Systems will host Apprentice Open Evenings at Portsmouth Naval Base on Monday 3 November 2025 and Tuesday 4 November 2025, both running from 18:00 to 20:00.
These events offer a rare chance to explore the company’s cutting-edge work in maritime security and defence and to learn how apprentices play a crucial role in delivering technology that helps protect people and nations. Attendees will meet current apprentices, digital technologists, engineers, and business professionals to gain insight into the wide variety of apprenticeship pathways available — from business development and radar technology to manufacturing solutions and ship maintenance.
“Apprentices at BAE Systems help us provide a vital advantage for our customers to protect what really matters,” the company explains. “It’s a chance to work on world-leading technology and be part of a team that truly influences the future.”
Because Portsmouth Naval Base is an active defence site, advance registration is required. Attendance is limited to two places per booking and operates on a first come, first served basis. Those under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian, and valid photo ID will be needed to gain entry.
To register your interest, email skillscentre.admin@baesystems.com specifying how many places you require (one or two) and which evening you wish to attend. The registration deadline is Friday 17 October 2025, though early booking is recommended as spaces may fill quickly.
