Discover Careers at Sea – Open Days with Southampton Solent University and Warsash Maritime School
The Island Careers Partnership is pleased to share details of two upcoming open days hosted by Southampton Solent University, in partnership with Warsash Maritime School and supported by leading maritime organisations. These events offer a fantastic opportunity to explore careers at sea and learn about training pathways to become a ship’s navigation (deck), engineer, or electro-technical officer in the Merchant Navy and on superyachts.
Many of the major British shipping companies and recruitment and training companies who recruit cadets will be available to give information about the career opportunities they offer. Teaching staff will be on hand to talk about the academic side of training, and current cadets will be able to tell you what training to be a ship’s officer is like.
