2025 Education, Careers and Business Summit
The annual Education, Careers and Business Summit returns on Wednesday 2nd July 2025, and this year’s event promises to be more impactful than ever. This year the event will be led by the Solent Careers Hub and will bring together a mix of local employers, enterprise advisers, and education professionals in a collaborative effort to enhance career opportunities for young people across the Island.
Running from 10:30am to 2:30pm in Newport (venue to be confirmed), the summit will centre around skills, employability, and collective action. A key topic on this year’s agenda is the newly released careers guidance for schools concerning workplace experiences. Attendees will explore how employers and educators can work together to design and deliver modern, meaningful experiences of the workplace—programmes that not only meet new national guidance but also inspire and prepare young people for the future of work.
Building on the success of last year’s event—hosted by ourselves – which led to the creation of the Island Employer Engagement Plan, this year’s summit continues the momentum that has already strengthened connections between schools and local businesses. We’re grateful to Solent Careers Hub for stepping up to lead this year’s event and for their commitment to building on such a strong foundation.
